I LOVE the little town we live in! We are so excited to be named America's Prettiest Small Town! TripAdvisor picked 28 small towns that are less than 20 square miles that are packed with outdoor adventure, historical sites, and awesome people! Black Mountain has all 3.

Black Mountain is located only 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Asheville. While Asheville gets all the credit for having the great restaurants and breweries, Black Mountain can hold its own in that category. We have over 30 restaurants to choose from with all types of cuisine to suit even the pickiest of palates. Black Mountain is also home to 3 breweries! Pisgah Brewery is home to a large outdoor music venue and Lookout Brewery is the best spot to grab a brew with the locals…

Cottonwood Properties at Pisgah Brewing fundraiser VegOutThe Cottonwood Properties team hanging out at VegOut, held at Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain June 9.

It’s no secret that North Carolina is a major craft beer hub, with more than 260 craft breweries already opened and more opening every day. This makes it one of the beer powerhouses of the East Coast (Pennsylvania had 236 breweries accounted for at the end of 2017; New York had 214, with no other state coming in with more than 200). Of course, the competition gets stiffer when factoring in California (520) and Colorado (252). But the WNC region is also starting to take other craft beverage industries by storm, like hard cider, alcoholic ginger beer, and non-alcoholic crafted drinks like kombucha and craft sodas. Here’s where you can drink…

No doubt we could list hundreds, no, thousands of reasons we love living in North Carolina, and Western North Carolina specifically. But, we figured we’d let others do the talking, so we’ve rounded up 5 reasons people think living in WNC is awesome.

  1. From CreditDonkey.com’s “23 Reasons Why North Carolina Might Just Be the Best State Ever”

“If you want to live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, the Tar Heel State doesn’t disappoint. The Appalachian, Blue Ridge, and Great Smoky Mountains all thread their way through the western part of the state, and it’s where you’ll find some of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi.”

We had to share our latest client testimonial written by a very happy client that allowed us to work with him to sell the very home that we also helped him buy a few years ago.

"Eddie is the guy in Black Mountain, period. If you're buying or selling a home and don't use him you're crazy."

Bottom line: We netted over $30K more selling our house than if we had used another realtor. Here are the details:

We bought a house in Cheshire in 2013 for $581K. Eddie was our buyers agent then, and did a great job. But when our plans changed and we decided to sell the house 4 years later, we talked to 3 well-respected realtors (including Eddie). Our guess was that it would make sense to list the house for $650K, then if we got lucky we'd end up with an…

Uniqueness of Living In Our Catawba Falls Home....A Note From The Owners

Every season brings with it numerous sensory inspiring experiences from the tranquil yet richly stimulating environment of our mountain setting. The Fall beckons early morning walks in the chill of fresh clean air and the striking brilliance of the mountain color palette. And relaxing times rocking on the front porch listening to music in the otherwise quiet of the day; and later gazing out from the loft at the panoramic beauty of the season. In the Winter, there is the peacefulness of watching thick white clouds fill the valley below; sipping hot refreshments in the ambiance of a glowing fireplace while snow quietly falls outside and then bundling up and venturing out to enjoy…
